With a career spanning over four decades, Denise brings versatile expertise to the construction industry. Since entering the field in 1983, she has worked across subcontracting, development, general contracting and construction management. Her experience spans both public and private sectors, including extensive work on DSA (Division of the State Architect) and OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) projects. Denise has held a wide range of positions—from project management, estimating, sales/marketing, C-suite leadership and ultimately ownership roles. Today, she plays an active role in all facets of Coffey Building Group’s operations with a strong focus on CBG’s Functional Divisions in addition to client relationships and staff mentoring. Her leadership is driven by a passion for strategic growth, team development, and cultivating long-term client partnerships. Denise is a strong supporter of Girls Inc. and The City of Hope (having been a past board member of both), she also supports CASA OC.

Tom began his career as a drywall carpenter in 1979. Over the years Tom advanced rapidly, progressing from tradesman to field supervisor, project manager, sales/estimator, C-Suite and ultimately business owner. His project portfolio spans a diverse range of sectors, including residential, retail, commercial, industrial, K–12 and higher education—with a particularly strong emphasis on healthcare. At Coffey Building Group, Tom leads the estimating and project management teams, while overseeing the company's overall growth and leadership development. He excels in client relationships and contract negotiations and is deeply committed to mentoring staff and fostering long-term client partnerships.

Shane brings over two decades of industry knowledge and hands-on field experience to his role as General Superintendent, overseeing all Framing, Drywall, and Specialty field operations. Since beginning his construction career in 1997, he has built a comprehensive background with a diverse range of project types and a particularly extensive portfolio in healthcare. Shane’s depth of expertise enables him to proactively identify potential issues before they impact project delivery. He views challenges as opportunities to mentor team members while driving client value. His leadership is defined by a commitment to innovative problem-solving, strong relationship management, and a relentless focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Ron Mello is a third-generation carpenter specializing in drywall, lathing, and framing. He began his career in 1997 and has since built a diverse portfolio that includes mid-rise and high-rise buildings, replacement hospitals, and numerous tenant improvement projects. His extensive field experience allows him to communicate effectively with both field-level staff and executive leadership, including owners. As Vice President of Operations at Coffey Building Group, Ron oversees project management, estimating, and field operations. He plays a key role in client relations, including contract negotiations and pre-construction design review and assistance. Ron’s leadership is instrumental in driving the overall success of our projects.

Drew Martin has been part of the acoustical trade since 2008, starting as an apprentice and growing into a leadership role through dedication and hands-on expertise. As Acoustical Division Superintendent, he brings extensive experience in ceiling and wall panel installations. Known for his strong leadership and positive impact, Drew excels in both customer service and project management, ensuring every project runs smoothly from start to finish.

Paden began his career in the 1990s and has over 20 years of experience in acoustical ceilings. His expertise spans the installation of various ceiling systems, resource management and scheduling, safety administration, detailing and design development, supervision, and estimating. He also has a strong background in multiple types of construction, with particular emphasis on OSHPD and healthcare projects. An effective communicator with a proven track record in preconstruction, estimating, field management, and team building, Paden brings strong leadership to the Coffey Building Group team. He is currently responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Acoustical Division.

Prior to taking on the role of Safety Manager, Mike was a respected member of our field team, where he built strong relationships with the entire CBG team, our clients and subcontractors. Mike has been actively involved in the trades since 2011, leveraging his field experience and certifications to uphold high safety standards across our projects. He is deeply committed to the physical and mental well-being of our teams. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Mike serves as a mentor with the NorCal Carpenters Union and holds a leadership position within his church. He also devotes a significant portion of his personal time to community service.

Charlene has been with the CBG Team over 20 years, bringing years of industry knowledge and experience working with our team. She supervises our accounting staff, maintains industry compliance, and works closely with project managers and clients to ensure financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. Her expertise supports our team’s strategic decision making.
